THE 2030 GOVERNOR'S SUMMIT
September 19, 2019 at SITE Santa Fe
Sponsored by Descartes Labs
Cyndi Conn was an integral part of the success for the 2030 Governor’s Summit. Cyndi has a unique ability to bring together individuals and organizations on opposite sides of critical issues and political viewpoints in a productive and positive environment. This opened the door to a transformational event addressing how to pave a realistic and unified pathway for New Mexico’s environmental and energy future. Cyndi is organized, thorough, professional, and highly innovative.
– Javier Gonzales, Business Development, Government and Public Affairs at Descartes Labs / Former Mayor of Santa Fe
The 2030 Governor’s Energy and Environmental Technology Summit in Santa Fe, New Mexico in partnership with the Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, the State of New Mexico, and Descartes Labs. The Summit brought together industry leaders across the political spectrum including EOG Resources, Occidental Petroleum, Pioneer Natural Resources, Los Alamos National Laboratories, Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), and a host of other energy-related technology companies and climate-related sustainability leaders to explore cutting-edge innovations that create a pathway for New Mexico’s environmental and energy future. The Summit proved to be an excellent forum for the interaction of differing opinions grounded in the great equalizers of science and technology to build a roadmap for New Mexico’s energy future and to reach the Governor’s pledge to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030.
In a key announcement, the Governor and Descartes Labs unveiled the development of a publicly accessible Data Refinery to help the state meet environmental targets by creating mapping and modeling capabilities to monitor methane emissions in New Mexico, starting with the Permian Basin.

CREATIVE SANTA FE NUCLEAR WEAPONS SUMMIT
December 4-7, 2016
Sponsored by N Square and Nuclear Threat Initiative
The Disruptive Futures Nuclear Weapons Summit combined two things in a really compelling way: the power of place and boundary innovation. The cohort brought together by Creative Santa Fe, N Square and the Nuclear Threat Initiative was rich with diversity, from nuclear experts to communications gurus to artists… Innovation research shows that new ideas surface when people with different perspectives bring their minds and resources to bear, together, on a new challenge.
– Bruce Lowry, Director, Policy and Global Security at Skoll Foundation
The Nuclear Weapons Summit generated a new type of discussion about the future of global nuclear security. Over three days, 47 interdisciplinary leaders from across the country and in all different fields were immersed in the history of nuclear weapons, discussed present day nuclear threats. Creative Santa Fe leveraged art, creative writing and design exercises to explore ‘what if’ scenarios about the future of global security getting global leaders to think about the issues and possible solutions in completely new ways. The event was kicked off by sold-out keynote event at Santa Fe’s historic Lensic Theater featuring former Secretary of Defense William Perry with journalist, author and filmmaker Eric Schlosser.

SANTA FE DATA PLATFORM
2019- Ongoing
Sponsored by the Thornburg Foundation and The City of Santa Fe
We could not have built the Santa Fe Data Platform without Cyndi's incredible expertise in convening key stakeholders, building public-private partnerships, and negotiating complex dynamics and personalities. She helped raise essential dollars as well as create an authentic collaboration between government, foundation and private sector interests. This was a ‘from scratch’ project that required a lot of quick-thinking and diplomatic problem solving; Cyndi overcame these obstacles with professionalism and ease.
